Khel Mahakumbh : In the Khel Maha Kumbh State Level Competition organized at Maharana Pratap Sports Stadium Dehradun Under-23 on 6-7 January 2025, Deepak Saini, representing Haridwar, has increased the pride of Haridwar by securing first place in 100 meters and second place in long jump.

Let us tell you that Deepak Saini is a resident of Tilakpuri, who also runs his own sports academy. He has been training the young generation here for many years so that they do not go astray on the wrong path.
He runs his academy in the name of Jassi Sports Academy.

He has influenced all the surrounding villages including Bhogpur. His talent is commendable. After this success, Deepak Saini has started preparing for the Nationals.
He has also raised the name of Haridwar along with his block Laksar village Tilakpuri Bhogpur.
And his work is commendable in the field. Deepak Saini has become a favorite of the youth in Block Laksar including the village. The young generation is showing good interest in sports after seeing his work, which is a very good thing.

Khel Mahakumbh

Sports Mahakumbh has started in Uttarakhand from October 4, in which about three and a half lakh players in the age group of 14 to 23 from all the districts of the state have participated. These games started with 662 Nyaya Panchayat level competitions, after which block, district and state level competitions were organized. The special thing is that the players who break the national record in these competitions will also be given a cash prize of one lakh rupees.

Purpose to recognize good players

These games are organized to select talented players from across the state and prepare them for national and international level performance. The special thing is that the number of players participating in the Khel Maha Kumbh is increasing every year. Special Principal Secretary Sports Amit Sinha said that if we look at ‘Khel Maha Kumbh’ from the sports department’s point of view, it is a very big flagship project. The only purpose of such an event is to select players interested in sports from the state. We think that in future these players will participate in the National Games (9th National Games).

The registration process has started for the Khel Mahakumbh to be held in the state from Gram Panchayat to Block, District and State level. Applications will be made online as well as offline in the concerned sports ground and nearest government office. The Khel Mahakumbh will be inaugurated from Almora district on October 4 and will conclude on January 31, 2025.

The Khel Mahakumbh is being organized to identify talented players in the state and get them enrolled in sports colleges and sports schools for high level training and to open the way for paramilitary force and police recruitment.

The games will be held in coordination with the Sports Department and the Education Department

The Khel Mahakumbh will be held in coordination with the District Youth Welfare and Provincial Guard Force, Sports Department and Education Department. Boys and girls from under-14 to under-23 category can participate in the competition. Finally, a competition for Divyangjan (14-23) boys and girls will also be organized.

In the Khel Maha Kumbh, sports like athletics, kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball, football, badminton, judo, boxing, table-tennis, taekwondo, karate, basketball, yogasana, handball, mallakhamb, hockey and rooster jhapat will be organized. Divyang players will play sports like deaf and dumb, lower limb, spinal over limb and wheel chair.
